【Single Origin Okumidori Matcha】 The Cultivar Previously Reserved for "Ichiban"
This year, we are proud to offer the "Okumidori" cultivar, previously used exclusively for our "Ichiban" blend, as a special single-origin matcha. This precise cultivation results in a rich taste and a powerful, distinct umami.
"Meticulous Shading" for a Deep, Vibrant Green The signature deep, dark green of the Okumidori cultivar is born from careful shade management just before harvest. We also use specially selected organic fertilizers at the optimal moment, resulting in a deep, concentrated flavor.
A Powerful Flavor That Shines with Milk This matcha has a commanding presence. Its robust profile and distinct umami are strong enough to stand up to milk, creating a luxurious latte without losing its signature character. It is, of course, also magnificent on its own.
Ideal for Moments of Focus With its sophisticated balance and a pleasantly natural, lingering aftertaste, this is the perfect matcha for sharpening your senses and settling into a period of deep concentration.

incredibly layered, deep color, very smooth. it's probably not my favorite for matcha latte, because i prefer something a bit more bitter and astringent. but for a traditional matcha tea, it's hard to beat. A very special matcha. Also - i should say - my girlfriend and i disagree on the latte point. She prefers this to Ichi (or any other flavor we've tried from Hatoya) for lattes. She likes it a bit more smooth. I prefer Ichi cause it's bright, bold, a little more bitter.
