【A Taste of the River's Bounty - Joyo Samidori -】
The Renowned "Samidori" Variety, From the Riverbeds of Joyo
Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture. Grown in the special riverbed soils along the Kizu River, this matcha is made from the celebrated "Samidori" variety. These fields are blessed with "niko," a nutrient-dense mud unique to the riverbed. The sandy soil provides excellent drainage, allowing the tea plants to rapidly absorb these rich nutrients, resulting in a matcha with an exceptionally deep, vibrant green color and a powerfully concentrated umami.
A Burst of Pure, Unadulterated Umami
This matcha is defined by its striking, deep green color and a clean, straightforward umami that floods the palate the moment you taste it. Free from any bitterness or harsh astringency, it offers a tasting experience that is both impactful and remarkably smooth, leaving a clean and refreshing finish.

I bought some cause someone recommended and they had a sale which would offset the shipping cost, I’m glad I did! This matcha is strong in lattes when using 2 tsp which I have been looking for, I don’t like mild matcha lattes. It is on the nutty side, when made as usucha does some grassy tones come in, as usucha it is slightly bitter (not too much) and a little bit astringent, but again, not too much. With some sweets it’s yummy. Anyway, I really really liked this matcha, hopefully there are more sales in the future so I can buy again.
SO GOOD! My favorite matcha. It taste very smooth, creamy, with a slight sweetness
Super umami, love it
